Vince McMahon released William Regal from WWE as part of a wave of releases, but Triple H quickly worked to rehire him.
After a brief time in AEW, William Regal was able to return to WWE. He will not be able to perform as a talent for a year, but he is back working with WWE.
According to PW Insider, William Regal has returned to WWE with the title of Vice President, Global Talent Development.
William Regal, 54 years old, was present backstage at SmackDown last week. It is likely he will continue to be a regular backstage presence, but he will not likely appear on television.
Vince McMahon’s return to WWE is as Chairman of the Board and not as taking over creative or dismissing the personnel that Triple H had hired. Triple H will continue to be in charge of creative direction for the company, which will include maintaining William Regal’s position.
