AEW Double or Nothing 2023: Pay-Per-View Buy Estimates Unveiled

Published on

All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Double or Nothing 2023 pay-per-view buy estimates have been revealed, providing a glimpse into the event’s performance compared to previous shows. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, as of June 1, the buys for Double or Nothing were reported to be virtually identical to the buys for Revolution, which took place in March.

The estimated buyrate for Double or Nothing falls between 130,000 and 135,000. This figure contradicts earlier expectations that the pay-per-view numbers for Double or Nothing would be lower due to the buildup. However, the event seems to have performed well in terms of television pay-per-view buys.

“The figures on June 1 were comparable to Revolution, with a difference of only 100 nationally and a 0.2 percent increase in pace compared to the previous show. The streaming and FITE numbers for Double or Nothing are also similar, suggesting that the event is on track to achieve the same level of success as Revolution,” Meltzer reported.

However, Meltzer also noted that Revolution experienced an unusually high number of late buys, and it is unlikely that Double or Nothing will surpass those figures. When compared to last year’s Double or Nothing event, the television buys for this year’s event have decreased by 31.3 percent at the same stage.

At present, the estimated final number for Double or Nothing is between 130,000 and 135,000, but this could vary slightly depending on the buys in the next two weeks. A more accurate assessment of the late buys and the overall trajectory will be available next week, which could determine whether the final number reaches closer to the 140,000 range that AEW pay-per-view shows have consistently achieved since the Forbidden Door event last year.
