Copeland Addresses His Departure and New Beginnings in AEW

Adam Copeland, formerly known for his iconic WWE career, has officially announced his transition to AEW. Copeland detailed his reasons for the move through a heartfelt social media post, emphasizing the evolution of his relationship with WWE.

He began by acknowledging his long-standing association with WWE, stating, “From The Desk of… As some of you may now know, I’m no longer with WWE. My new home is AEW.” Copeland expressed his enthusiasm for the fresh challenges awaiting him in AEW, including potential first-ever matchups and reuniting with familiar faces.

While expressing gratitude for the opportunities and experiences WWE provided him, including meeting his life partner, Copeland highlighted the natural progression of relationships. He felt that both he and WWE had reached a point where they had “outgrown each other.” He elaborated on his desire for more challenges, which he felt WWE couldn’t offer at this juncture.

In his message, Copeland also addressed the divisive sentiments among wrestling fans, urging them to rise above tribalism and enjoy the sport. He emphasized the importance of choices in the industry, which ultimately benefits everyone, pushing performers to elevate their game.

He concluded with a rallying call to fans, saying, “I guess what I’m trying to say is this, if you’ve appreciated my work, you still can, no matter what the initials are. Because I’ll still be bustin my ass every time I’m out there. This ride isn’t over just yet.”

Adam Copeland’s illustrious WWE journey culminated in a match against Sheamus on the August 18 edition of SmackDown, held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
