Summary
– R-Truth admits he’s still not ready to talk about John Cena’s heel turn
– Says the betrayal of Cody Rhodes and team-up with The Rock left him stunned
– Insists even Little Jimmy is in emotional turmoil over the fallout
R-Truth is still emotionally reeling after John Cena’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber 2025. During an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, he made it clear—he’s not ready to fully confront what happened.
When asked about Cena’s betrayal of Cody Rhodes and his shocking alliance with The Rock and Travis Scott, Truth deflected with raw honesty. “Why y’all asking me that? Y’all noticed I haven’t spoke on that at all, right? And I don’t want to speak on it right now,” he said, explaining that he’s “hurt to the beyond hurtstivity.”
Truth expressed that Cena’s long-standing image built on “hustle, loyalty, respect” now feels broken, and even Little Jimmy is “in turmoil” trying to process it. The betrayal hit hard, especially after Cena dethroned Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to become WWE Champion.
When Van Vliet brought up Cena’s controversial low blow on Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, Truth tried to downplay it, saying, “We don’t know that for sure. It looked like it went there, but we don’t know that. It could’ve been part of the inner thigh.”
Truth closed the conversation by likening his feelings to a simmering storm: “You know you need to do something about it, but you leave it where it’s at… That’s where I’m at with the John Cena thing.”
It’s clear R-Truth’s faith in a lifelong hero has been deeply shaken—and he’s not the only one feeling it.
