Intercontinental Champion says less is more when it comes to his in-ring style
Summary
– Dominik Mysterio says he wants his rare moves to feel more special
– Believes wrestling has become oversaturated with flashy spots
– Wants fans to remember standout moments, not expect them every match
Dominik Mysterio has taken a noticeable step back from the high-flying style he once used regularly, and now he’s explained exactly why.
Speaking on the Intoxicados podcast, the Intercontinental Champion said he’s deliberately scaled back his moveset so that the big moments hit harder. “You see that so much nowadays—guys doing insane backflips,” Mysterio said. “If I give it to them 10% of the time, when I do hit that moonsault, it’s going to mean more.”
Mysterio stressed that while he can execute those moves, he wants to create standout memories rather than blend in with others. “I want it to be special when I do it,” he added.
Since winning the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 41, Mysterio has focused more on storytelling and presence than packing his matches with aerial stunts. Based on fan reactions, the shift in approach is working.
