Legendary Commentator Jim Ross Transitions to All In Event as Retirement Approaches

Published on

Widely regarded as a legend in the wrestling industry, WWE Hall of Famer and renowned announcer Jim Ross finds himself at a crossroads as retirement looms. After years of leaving an indelible mark with his distinctive voice and commentary in WWE, Ross has shifted his focus towards AEW (All Elite Wrestling).

Sharp-eyed fans have taken note of Ross’s reduced involvement in AEW’s flagship show, Dynamite, compared to his previous role. While he once provided commentary for Dynamite and select pay-per-view events, he now appears less frequently on Dynamite and more prominently on AEW’s one-hour show, Rampage. Nonetheless, Ross has made it clear that he is not ready to hang up his boots just yet and is eagerly anticipating one final major project before embracing a quieter phase of his illustrious career. That project is none other than the highly anticipated All In event, which has the potential to be the pinnacle pay-per-view of the year.

However, the specific role that Ross will assume at the event remains uncertain. During a recent episode of Grilling JR, Ross expressed his excitement about All In while acknowledging the lack of clarity regarding his assignment.

“I’m excited about it,” Ross shared with enthusiasm. “I’m glad I’m going. I don’t know what I’m doing. That’s the great thing about my career. I’ve done it all, without sounding like a jerk. All roles. I’ve done color, I’ve done play-by-play, I’ve been a host, blah blah blah. So I don’t know what I’m doing, but it doesn’t matter. I’ll be a part of the event,” he continued, “and that’s what’s going to be cool as hell. Guys like me, I don’t know how many more rodeos I’ve got.”

As Jim Ross approaches the twilight of his remarkable career, fans can only hope for more opportunities to relish his iconic commentary. Ross’s presence elevates moments in professional wrestling, and witnessing him contribute to the creation of more iconic moments in AEW would undoubtedly be an exciting prospect for enthusiasts of the sport.
