Jarrett Claims AEW’s Earnings Surpassed the Reported $100k for the Iconic Match

In the ever-evolving world of professional wrestling, certain matches stand out for their in-ring action and financial implications. One such bout that has been the talk of the town is AEW’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre match. Jeff Jarrett, a stalwart in the wrestling industry and part of the AEW family, recently shed light on the financial success of this match.

During an episode of AEW Dynamite aired on August 16, fans witnessed a brutal Texas Chainsaw Massacre match featuring Jeff Jarrett vs. Jeff Hardy. The bout, which was a tie-in for the upcoming video game of the same name, was not just a spectacle in terms of wrestling but also had a surprise appearance from Leatherface, portrayed by Dean Alexander.

Dave Meltzer had previously reported that AEW made over $100,000 in sponsorship from this match. However, Jeff Jarrett addressed this report while speaking on his ‘My World’ podcast on AdFreeShows.com, claiming that the actual earnings were significantly higher. “The number that’s being reported online… it’s way low. It blew me away,” Jarrett commented. He further added that the match was a “grand slam in so many ways” and served its purpose, even for those who might not have been fans of such integrations.

Despite the criticism the match faced, Jarrett believes it was a success. He emphasized the importance of such integrations, stating that they offer a fresh perspective and can cater to different segments of the audience.

In conclusion, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre match in AEW not only delivered in terms of wrestling action but also proved to be a financial boon for the company. With Jeff Jarrett’s recent revelations, it’s clear that AEW’s innovative approach to wrestling and business is paying off.
