Eric Bischoff Suggests Tony Khan Should Sign Jinder Mahal Following WWE Exit

Summary
– Jinder Mahal’s recent release from WWE has surprised fans and sparked discussions about his future.

– Eric Bischoff, on his 83 Weeks podcast, advocates for Tony Khan to consider signing Mahal to AEW.

– Mahal’s departure is particularly notable given his past success and WWE’s focus on global markets.

The wrestling world was taken aback when Jinder Mahal, a former WWE Champion and recent contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Title on RAW, was released from WWE. His exit came unexpectedly, especially considering his significant role in WWE’s expansion into international markets and his proven ability to perform at the main event level.

Eric Bischoff, a WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling industry veteran, discussed the implications of Mahal’s release on his podcast, “83 Weeks.” He pointed out the potential opportunity for AEW’s Tony Khan to capitalize on Mahal’s availability. Bischoff recalled a past incident where Khan commented about Mahal, which had ignited the wrestling community online, suggesting that hiring Mahal could leverage this previous engagement and stir further interest.

“Not sure what to make if it [WWE’s releases]. But first of all… if I was Tony Khan and if Jinder is available — and this isn’t a storyline. I’d hire him so fast. Going back to the comments that Tony made about Jinder, that started a whole thing. I mean, it sort of [set] the internet on fire for about three days, four days. It was awesome, it was fun to watch. People are nuts, man. People are nuts on Twitter, and I’m here for it all. It’s the most entertaining thing for me to sit down and watch some of these people go crazy.”

Bischoff’s comments highlight the buzz surrounding Mahal and the potential for AEW to benefit from his high-profile and established fan base. While Bischoff made his remarks somewhat humorous, the underlying suggestion is serious—Mahal could be a valuable asset to AEW or any other promotion looking to boost its roster.

As Jinder Mahal assesses his options post-WWE, the wrestling industry and its fans keenly watch to see where he will land next. His proven track record and the recent publicity stemming from his release heightened the intrigue around his future.
