“Stone Cold” Steve Austin made his classic entrance at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, but this one didn’t go exactly to plan.
Austin roared into Allegiant Stadium on his signature four-wheeler to the roar of 63,226 fans. But as he circled the ring, the Texas Rattlesnake took a sharp turn too tight and slammed into the ringside barricade—sending a fan stumbling backward in the process. Austin quickly jumped out, unfazed, and carried on to the ring for his appearance.
Austin addressed the crowd inside the ring and joked about the official attendance. “I’ve been in a lot of buildings like this, and it seems like there’s more people here than that number. I want a recount,” he cracked before sharing a beer toast with the audience.
Behind the scenes, however, things may have gotten more serious. According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE executives were visibly shaken. “Austin… flies around the ring, smashes into the barricade, knocks this woman back… Nick Khan flies over to talk to her,” Alvarez said. Dave Meltzer added, “Nick Khan is a smooth operator,” to which Alvarez responded, “He is. I heard they’re nervous about this one.”
