Wade Barrett Confirms Permanency of His WWE SmackDown Role

In a recent interview with The Daily Star, Wade Barrett announced that he will be a permanent fixture at the SmackDown commentary table for the foreseeable future. As a seasoned commentator and former wrestler, Barrett’s expertise and charisma make him a valuable addition to the Friday night broadcast.

Barrett’s move to SmackDown last October came after Pat McAfee left for ESPN College GameDay. At the time, WWE stated that McAfee would return to his position once the college football season was over. However, McAfee’s surprise return to the commentary desk at the Royal Rumble did not lead to him resuming his previous duties on SmackDown.

Going forward, Barrett will be joined by veteran commentator Michael Cole, forming a dynamic duo that will undoubtedly bring their A-game to every match. As fans eagerly anticipate the next SmackDown broadcast, they can rest assured that Barrett and Cole will be there to provide expert analysis and entertaining banter.

It’s as permanent as you can ever be in a role in WWE!

Historically things have always been switched around and teams have been moved from here to there, and I’m not saying I’m going to be in the SmackDown hot seat for the next ten years or anything like that.

But in terms of the foreseeable, it’s going to be me and Cole going forward.

Pat McAfee is always going to be a friend of WWE. He’s an incredibly talented guy and we’re all fans of his, too, but he has a lot on his plate.
