Pat McAfee Inks Game-Changing $10 Million Per Year ESPN Contract

Pat McAfee is keeping his WWE dreams alive, despite his busy schedule. In a tweet on Thursday night, McAfee addressed questions about his status with WWE, emphasizing that he thinks about wrestling every day and has “massive” plans to make it to the WWE Hall of Fame someday, despite the demands of his growing business and impending fatherhood.

Although McAfee made a surprise return to WWE commentary at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, he has yet to appear on WWE television since then. McAfee had put his WWE role on hold in September 2022 to join ESPN’s College GameDay.

Meanwhile, Wade Barrett, who took over for McAfee on SmackDown commentary, has recently spoken about his position, saying that his role is “as permanent as you can ever be in a role in WWE.” Although McAfee is “always going to be a friend of WWE,” according to Barrett, the former NFL punter has a lot on his plate at the moment.

Last month, McAfee expressed his uncertainty about his future with WWE in a tweet, citing the rumors about WWE being sold and questioning whether he wanted to work for new owners.

Despite these uncertainties, McAfee signed a multi-year contract extension with WWE in July 2022 and remains committed to his goal of someday being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
