Mark Henry Confirms Retirement from In-Ring Action, Discuss Future Plans

Mark Henry, a former WWE wrestler, made his AEW debut at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in 2021, and fans were left wondering if he would ever return to in-ring action. However, in a recent interview with WJAR, Henry made it clear that he has no intention of ever competing again.

Despite signing a multi-year deal with AEW, Henry has yet to compete inside the ring and is unlikely to ever do so now. When asked about the possibility of returning to wrestling, Henry stated, “No, no. Don’t try to wish pain on me! …if anybody hits me, I’m calling the police.”

Henry, who is also a WWE Hall of Famer, added that he is content with his current backstage role as a commentator on AEW Rampage. Although he had previously expressed his desire to wrestle in AEW, it appears that will no longer be possible.

His last match in the ring was as one of the participants at the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018, and it will remain as his final in-ring appearance. While fans may be disappointed that Henry won’t be returning to in-ring action, they can still enjoy his contributions to the wrestling world through his role as a commentator and behind-the-scenes work.
