WWE Hall of Famer Discusses the Wrestling Styles of Bret Hart and Road Dogg on The Wrestling Time Machine Podcas

In a recent episode of The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long, alongside Senior Editor Bill Apter, engaged in a lively discussion about the wrestling prowess of Bret Hart and Road Dogg. The conversation was sparked by a tweet from Billy Gunn, agreeing with the sentiment that Road Dogg was a better wrestler than Bret Hart.

Long, who has seen both wrestlers in action, offered his insights into the debate. He acknowledged the different styles of both wrestlers, describing Bret Hart as the epitome of a scientific wrestler who could also brawl, while Road Dogg, hailing from the classic Armstrong family, was more of a kick-ass type of wrestler.

Long stated, “Bret Hart is the perfection of that scientific wrestler. Brawler, he can do that too. Road Dogg, I know he could do that because he comes from that classic Armstrong family. But Road Dogg is more of a kick-ass type of wrestler in the ring.”

While Long didn’t definitively pick a side, he expressed admiration for both wrestlers, stating, “I think they’re both good wrestlers, Teddy. I mean, in their own styles and ways, right? I’m not thinking either one of them. I think both of these guys are tough in the ring.”

The discussion also touched upon the hypothetical scenario of a match between Bret Hart and Road Dogg, which Long believed would be a sight to see. He said, “That would be something I’d like to see too, you know, if that ever had to happen. You know, maybe not now, but just think about that, you know, Road Dogg and Bret Hart right there. Oh yeah, that’s one to see.”
